In January we launched the new professional development guide that introduces a learning topic each month in 2022.
This month’s topic is ‘Show Me Excellence’ which focuses on operational excellence. In October, highlight the importance of training and education related to operational excellence.
October is Show Me Excellence month! In October 2021, Missouri Governor Mike Parson proclaimed the month to be Show Me Excellence month in recognition of introducing State team members to problem solving tools, training opportunities, and the annual Show Me Excellence Summit. Learn more about the
Show Me Excellence Summit and the Show Me Excellence
initiatives for additional learning opportunities! The Show Me Excellence Summit theme this year is One T.E.A.M., which will focus on
Trust, Empowerment, Action, and Mentorship.
One way you can increase your problem solving skills and use similar language across teams is by completing the
Show Me Excellence White Belt offered through MO Learning.
For folks that have a bit more experience in the Show Me Excellence realm, we recommend the
Show Me Excellence Playbook. This resource is recommended for those that have completed Yellow or Green Belt training. Here, you can learn more about The Missouri Way A3, SIPOC, process mapping, and graphical analysis.
For supervisors, try out the "
Smarter, Not Harder" Series. This content is designed for supervisors by supervisors. Colleagues will offer quick tips to help make your work life easier and your teams more effective. The tips will be practical and easy to digest. They are to help us “do-learn-do”: try something out, adapt and improve, and then do again. They will often include an article, video, podcast, or a MO Learning course. This series is all about investing just a few minutes to make our work a bit better. You will also find a library of the “Smarter, Not Harder” Series content in
MO Learning.
Join us this month as we plan, innovate, and sustain together! Not sure where to get started? View the MO Learning October tailored content in the 2022 Learning Framework.
The new 2022 Learning Framework was developed by State team members, for State team members. Each month, we will highlight a new topic, one directly related to The Missouri Way Training Series. These trainings, along with ENGAGE conversation topics, live educational opportunities, and additional learning resources, are combined into one comprehensive package.
While participation is optional, our goal is to provide just the right amount of education so supervisors can meet their LDR goals, and all team members can meet their individual educational goals.
